Famous MP & Wife Perish In Mbale-Tirinyi Terrible Accident

Serere County Member of Parliament Patrick Okabe and his wife Christine Okabe lost their lives in a fatal accident that took place yesterday on Mbale Tirinyi road.

A fatal, dreadful accident occurred on Mbale Tirinyi road, smashing Serere County Member of Parliament Bishop Patrick Okabe and his wife Christine Okabe.

Unfortunately, Okabe died on the spot while his wife was rushed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital in a touch-and-go condition. In this process, his wife also died while being rushed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.

One of the congregates and still a Junior in Mr Okabe’s church that is to say Faith Ministries confirmed the death of his boss, saying his body is lying at Mbale Hospital mortuary.

While driving with his wife to Kampala on Monday morning,  in his vehicle registration number UBK 995F, Bishop Okabe died after a collision with a Kenya truck registration number KCX 071K at Naboa along Mbale-Tirinyi road. 

According to the Police Traffic and Road Safety spokesperson,  ASP Faridah Nampiima noted that  “Okabe died on the spot while his wife died on the way to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.” 

“The cause of the accident has been attributed to the Isuzu box body driver who was speeding, drifted from his side to the side of the Landcruiser that was coming from Mbale heading to Iganga and had a head-on collision,” Faridah Nampiima said.

“The driver of the Fuso box body is on the run after causing the accident,” she added.
