Ugandan soldier shot and killed three allies in Somalia according to the Uganda People’s Defense Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye confirmed that the soldier rose Monday morning and decided to shoot his colleagues for an unknown reason.
“We wonder if he was stressed or had a mental problem and we didn’t know,” said Brig. Gen Felix Kulayigye.
Kulayigye also asserted that Uganda’s army has set up a board to investigate the cause of the shooting.
He concluded that the culprit was apprehended and will be brought to Uganda to face a military court martial.
It has been noted that the four were a segment of the force guarding the international airport in the capital of Somalia Mogadishu.
Uganda has sent troops to Somalia since 2007 to maintain peace and unity in Somalia since it had been invaded by rebels who intend to oust the government in Mogadishu.
In History, it is the second time such an event occurred in Somalia for instance in May 2019 when a soldier shot dead his senior officer and he killed himself also.
conclusively, unfortunately, to date, the names of the deceased are still in question and therefore unknown.
